1. NAWA recognition
From 1 July 2025 NAWA Director issues recognition statements on a secondary education certificate confirming the right to apply for admission to first-cycle studies or long-cycle studies.
The NAWA’s Director individual recognition statements on secondary education certificates confirming the right to apply for admission to first-cycle studies or long-cycle studies are issued online.
It is a mandatory document for all students from non-European countries. It does not apply to students from Turkey, China and Ukraine.

2. English certificate_OBLIGATORY
B2 English language certificate for bachelor’s programme and B2 English language certificate for master’s programme.
The list of accepted English language certificates according to the new Polish law:

- TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language – Internet-Based Test) – minimum: 72 points
- TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) – minimum: 785 points – Listening & Reading AND 150 points – Speaking AND 160 points – Writing
- Pearson Assessment English
- Pearson English International Certificate (paper-based & computer-based; formerly PTE General or London Tests of English)
o Level 3 (Edexcel Certificate in ESOL International Level 1 – Pass, Merit, or Distinction) or higher

3. Additional Accepted Proofs of English Language Proficiency:
– A diploma of completion of first-cycle (Bachelor’s), second-cycle (Master’s), or long-cycle Master’s degree studies in the field of Philology (in the relevant foreign language) or Applied Linguistics, issued by a higher education institution operating within the higher education and science system of the Republic of Poland or a foreign university, together with a diploma supplement or certificate confirming that the number of hours of classes in that foreign language was at least 500.
– A diploma of completion of first-cycle, second-cycle, or long-cycle Master’s degree studies, issued by a higher education institution operating within the higher education and science system of the Republic of Poland or a foreign university, which:
- includes information about the language of instruction, or
- if the diploma does not specify the language of instruction, it must be accompanied by a diploma supplement or certificate confirming the language of instruction during the studies.
– An International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, with reference to the main language of instruction.
– An European Baccalaureate Diploma, with reference to the first (L1) or second (L2) language.
4. Certified translation into Polish of education documents (after arrival to Poland)
Original certified translations into the Polish language (or English language if a candidate undertakes studies provided in English) of all the documents listed issued in a language other than English.
Please note that if your school certificate needs to be recognized by the province education board it should be translated into Polish.
5. Eligibility Statement
It is a formal document that your education documents, allows you to continue higher education in the educational system in which it was issued.
