Environmental Engineering studies in English

Full-time. Environmental Engineering – where technology protects nature

Environmental Engineering is certainly a field of study with a strong future. Requirements related to the sustainable use of the natural environment, together with the consequences of climate change, mean that specialists using modern technologies in the protection of air, water and soil are in high demand. Water scarcity, the energy crisis and the depletion of natural resources make it necessary to search for new solutions. An environmental engineer is able to apply appropriate engineering solutions, particularly in the field of energy-efficient systems, the use of renewable energy sources, and water management, as water resources are limited.

What makes this direction stand out?

A strong connection between classical environmental knowledge and practical engineering skills in the field of sanitary, heating and ventilation systems, wastewater management, renewable energy sources, and energy processes.

This studies are for you if:

  • You want to design solutions that genuinely improve people’s quality of life;
  • You are interested in how a city works in terms of water, energy, heat and air;
  • You want a technical profession that combines engineering with environmental protection;
  • You are considering a career in modern installations, renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.

Environmental Engineering

Who can you become after these studies? Graduates of Environmental Engineering are specialists in reducing the negative impact of industrial processes on the environment, rational energy management, water and waste management, and air protection. They shape and strengthen the relationship between humans and the environment by working in research and development units, public administration, design offices and a wide range of enterprises, seeking the most beneficial balance in the human–industry–nature system.Graduates of Environmental Engineering may also apply for unlimited building qualifications in the installation specialization, covering heating, ventilation, gas, water supply and sewage networks, installations and equipment.

What will you learn during your studies?

After just one year:

  • Use basic technical documentation;
  • Use information technology tools;
  • Recognize basic biological, ecological, and material-related relationships.

After the second year:

  • Analyze basic thermal, flow, and chemical processes;
  • Design and interpret simple components of installations and technical systems;
  • Perform basic measurements and process the results of environmental measurements;
  • Identify energy-related and operational issues in industrial or sanitary installations.

After the third year:

  • Select and describe environmental protection technologies;
  • Design selected sanitary and environmental installations;
  • Assess the environmental impact of industrial or economic activities.

After subsequent years, if applicable:

  • Analyze and evaluate selected environmental or infrastructural problems;
  • Take into account economic, legal, and social aspects in the work of an environmental engineer;
  • Independently prepare and defend an engineering project.

Examples of subjects in the field of study

  • Circular Economy
  • Water Technology
  • Design of Water Supply Installations
  • Design of Wastewater Installations
  • Environmental Monitoring
  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
  • Energy Audit

From high school leaving exams to a professional career

What subject is worth taking in the final exam?

  • Mathematics,
  • Physics,
  • Cemistry,
  • Biology and computer science
  • Foreign language
  • Polish language

However, the most important thing is your willingness to develop yourself!

What can you do after graduation?

  • projektant instalacji sanitarnych
  • inżynier ds. ochrony środowiska
  • specjalista ds. gospodarki wodno-ściekowej
  • audytor energetyczny budynków
  • specjalista ds. odnawialnych źródeł energii
  • specjalista ds. gospodarki odpadami i ochrony powietrza

What does it look like in practice?

Imagine that you work in a design office, an installation company or a municipal enterprise. You design systems that provide a building with water, heating, ventilation, sewage disposal and low energy consumption. You do not just draw installations — you influence whether the building will be safe, energy-efficient, comfortable and environmentally friendly.

How much can you earn?

  • Starting price: approx. 5000 – 9000 PLN
  • After gaining experience: 7 000 – 12 000 PLN
  • Advanced roles: 15 000 PLN
